Hřebejk belongs to the best of Czech directors present. Each of his films was very much expected. In addition to feature films Hřebejk also occasionally directed at the Prague theater Pod Palmovkou and sometimes also filmed commercials and documentaries.

Alice Nellis

Alice Nellis

Alice Nellis is famous as a very successful theatre and film director, whose films gained many awards. She was born in 1971 and studied screenplay at FAMU, Prague. Her first feature film was „Ene bene“ (2000), that won award of Famu Festival for screenplay and MFF San Francisco for the best film.

Julius Ševčík

Julius Ševčík

Born in Prague in 1978, Julius studied at the New York Film Academy and at the Directing Department of FAMU University of Film in Prague, receiving a Masters degree in 2006.

His feature NORMAL - THE DUSSELDORF RIPPER WON BEST DIRECTOR AWARD AT SHANGHAI IFF. His second feature A PROMINENT PATIENT was selected for BERLINALE SPECIAL in 2017 and WON 22 AWARDS IN CZECH REPUBLIC,  SLOVAKIA, GERMANY AND CANADA INCLUDING BEST DIRECTOR AND BEST PICTURE.

Presently, Julius is in pre-production for THE GLASS ROOM based on a novel by SIMON MAWER produced by InFilm with CARICE VAN HOUTEN, HANA ALSTROM and KAREL RODEN.

 

Martin Šulík

Martin Šulík

Front Slovak director, who was born in 1962 in Zilina. In the years 1981-1986 he studied film and television directing at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, since 1994 he has been at the same school and the department as a teacher. He has made many successful feature films such as Everything I like (1992), Landscape (2000), and Sun (2005), from a serial of Prague Stories (1998) he is responsible for the episode Pictures from the trip.

Michal Viewegh

Michal Viewegh

Popular writer Michal Viewegh was born in 1962 in Prague. Childhood and youth he therefore spent in provincial Sázava. In the years 1983-1988 he studied at University, Prague, Czech Language and Literature and worked as a school teacher at Zbraslav. Later he became an editor in the then famous publishers Czechoslovakian writer on Narodni trida. In 1995, he left the publishing house and became a famous writer of novels.
